Here's a thing most shops won't tell you: a loofah isn't a sea creature at all. It's a gourd — a vine-grown fruit, dried out until only the fiber network is left.

That stiff open lattice is exactly why it scrubs. If you want exfoliation rather than a soft lather, this is the tool.

Rinse it well and let it dry fully in open air between uses, and replace it more often than you would a sea sponge.
